An Open Letter on Behalf of US Veterans For Biden

There are 18.8 million Veterans living in the United States today. We represent 500+ of them. We have served in World War II, the Korean War, Cold War, Vietnam War, Grenada, Panama, Lebanon, Persian Gulf War, Afghanistan, Iraq (OEF/OIF), and with the military’s anti-drug cultivation efforts in South America.

We, like the rest of the country, never thought the day would come that our biggest battle would be within our own borders. There are over 76,518 Veterans who have been infected with COVID-19 and 4,017 have needlessly died. The list of challenges plaguing Veterans, our families, and the American people - continues to grow with increases in suicides, drug abuse, hate crimes, unemployment, homelessness, bankruptcies, and climate change. We can and MUST do better.

No political party has a monopoly on faith, patriotism, law enforcement, armed forces, health care, race, class, gender, nor love of this nation. We love this country - Not because it’s perfect - because it isn't. We love this country because we have proven that when we put our differences aside and work united; towards a more perfect union, we are able to "establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity."

Former Vice President Biden; you have said that protecting those that protect our country is a "sacred obligation" and that WE need to "properly prepare and equip our troops when we send them into harm’s way... care for them and their families–both while they are deployed and after they return home." We are holding you to that promise and look forward to working together to accomplish that.

We continue to honor our oath of service, to uphold the Constitution of this Great Nation by endorsing Joe Biden for President and Commander in Chief of the United States. "The greatest victory is that which requires no battle." On November 3rd, our votes will be mightier than the sword.
