An open letter to Niagara Falls, Ontario, citizens, Niagara Falls Tourism, Niagara Parks Commission
June 4, 2022
Re: The usage of fireworks above the falls in Niagara Falls
I am calling for Niagara Falls Tourism, Niagara Parks Commission, and their associates to end the use of fireworks above the falls in Niagara Falls.
The use of fireworks causes various forms of pollution and is detrimental to wildlife. The noise created is a nuisance, causing distress to some people afflicted with PTSD, as well as people with sensory challenges.
Why do the citizens of Niagara Falls, and surrounding cities, have to endure this excessive bombardment, when there are better alternatives?
A change from fireworks to something more modern and environmentally friendly is far past due. A drone or laser light show would be a positive and welcome change.
The benefits of changing from fireworks to modern alternatives are enormous, supporting Niagara Falls Tourism’s interests while appeasing public and environmental concerns.
Thank you for your consideration.
Regards,
Bradley Pine
