Compel SU to boycott "Israel"

To the executive members of the SU PSF:

We call on you to take firm action and decisive steps towards the liberation of Palestinians from this tragic humanitarian crisis of epic proportions.

Enough is enough.

Given the global momentum to isolate "Israel" for its 'plausible genocide', (ICJ trial ruling, 2024), and against the atrocities committed by "Israel" through its illegal occupation and apartheid generally, the SU PSF is hereby directed to COMPEL an academic boycott of "Israel" from Stellenbosch University. The above is mandated upon the SU PSF executive members in accordance with the SU PSF Constitution (Chapter 1, Section 4), and failure to carry out the duties therein would amount to gross negligence of their responsibilities.

Hence, we demand the executive fulfills their mandate, by:

Making it of highest precedence to enforce the requests made hereunder and acting with urgency in response to the administration's rejection of any demands brought forward by the SU PSF. Appropriate responsive measures include organizing protests, sit-ins and other forms of strategic activism.

We emphasize that the most critical and urgent need now is to contribute to the mass global effort to end the siege on Gaza, and to stop the genocide. Therefore, we urge the executive to align its efforts with the pressing needs of the current situation, and to fulfill its duties as per its mandate.

Demands to be enforced:

Immediately sever all institutional and academic ties with the apartheid state of "Israel"; adopt the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) and immediately implement comprehensive BDS by boycotting "Israeli" products, and products in support of "Israel".

Signed and delivered:

Members of the SU PSF and concerned students
