You are probably aware of the recent problems with illegal traveller encampments on the recreation ground that borders Recreation and Stocton Roads in Guildford. This has caused problems, disruption, and distress to the local community which the council teams are aware of.

To prevent a repeat of the situation we are writing to ask for the urgent installation of appropriately upgraded security on the recreation ground access gates. This might take the form of height restrictions, rising bollards, or other physical barriers. We would be grateful for your urgent assistance in this matter.
