Madam, Sir,

Toomaj Salehi, an Iranian critical rapper, has been unjustly detained since 30th October 2022. He is in solitary confinement and is subjected to physical and mental torture, leading to severe injuries, notably to his left eye as well as fractures to his fingers and leg. His life is in great danger and he needs urgent medical care. Toomaj is innocent. The accusations against him are baseless. There is no place for artists in prison.

As a political representative, I protest against the indictment and detention of Toomaj Salehi and express my deepest concern for his life. I therefore demand the government of the Islamic Republic to:

I require immediate action to meet these demands.
