Dear Crunchyroll and TokuSHOUTsu Teams,
I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Jay and I am writing to you on behalf of the passionate and dedicated Tokusatsu fandom outside the United States which includes Europe and other non-USA English-speaking fans. We are reaching out to express our fervent desire for the release of Tokusatsu content, particularly Kamen Rider and Super Sentai, in our region.
Firstly, I would like to convey the overwhelming interest and enthusiasm that exists among our community. Through a recent interest form I conducted, we received valuable insights that highlight the significant demand for Tokusatsu in the PAL region. Out of 116 respondents:
• 91% expressed a strong desire for access to Super Sentai.
• 94% are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to access Kamen Rider content.
• 64% indicated a keen interest in having access to Ultraman.
• 41% expressed a desire for Metal Heroes.
• 47% expressed a strong interest in gaining access to Garo.
• 100% of respondents expressed interest in PAL toku releases
• 82% said they would purchase if there was access
These figures underscore the immense support and hunger for Tokusatsu content in our region. It is important to note that our community feels frustrated and left out when we see releases limited to North America, as there is a substantial fanbase beyond these borders. The PAL region boasts a diverse and dedicated audience eager to engage with and support Tokusatsu franchises.
We believe that the distribution of tokusatsu should be inclusive and accessible to everyone, regardless of geographical location. Our community is vocal in expressing our desire for tokusatsu content across the pond, but unfortunately, we have not seen much progress in addressing our concerns other than being told “ you will get it one day”.
We understand that licensing and distribution can be complex, but we believe that extending access to Tokusatsu content in the PAL region would not only cater to the existing fanbase but also attract new enthusiasts. Tokusatsu has a universal appeal that transcends geographical boundaries, and we are confident that the PAL region can contribute significantly to the success of these franchises.
By offering Tokusatsu content to our community, you would not only tap into an underserved market but also foster a sense of inclusivity and appreciation for the diverse fanbase that exists beyond North America. We believe that the PAL region has immense potential to become a thriving hub for Tokusatsu enthusiasts, contributing to the global success of these beloved franchises.
Furthermore, it is crucial to highlight the current situation with Power Rangers under Hasbro, which is unfortunately experiencing difficulties and is now on indefinite hiatus. This presents a unique and timely opportunity for both Crunchyroll and TokuSHOUTsu to step in and fill the void left by this hiatus. The challenges faced by Power Rangers underscore the need for fresh and engaging content, and licensing more Super Sentai and Kamen Rider series could be the perfect solution. By expanding these offerings to regions outside North America, where the impact of Power Rangers has been felt, you not only cater to a broader audience but also rejuvenate the Tokusatsu genre on a global scale. The PAL region, in particular, stands ready to embrace and support these iconic franchises, providing a strategic avenue for growth and revitalization in the face of current challenges.
In conclusion, we implore that Crunchyroll and TokuSHOUTsu to consider the overwhelming demand and potential in the PAL region for Tokusatsu releases. Your support in making these iconic series accessible to fans outside North America would undoubtedly be met with gratitude and enthusiasm.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to the possibility of enjoying Tokusatsu content through your platforms in the PAL region.
Yours Sincerely,
