RE: Recognise Dianne Greyson’s #EthnicityPayGap Mandate
It is with mixed feelings that we learn that the #EthnicityPayGap work of Dianne Greyson has been mandated by your committee, without naming her once. For example, this press release; news.sky.com/story/government-committee-calls-to-f...
Dianne has been instrumental in leading agencies, educating organisations and inspiring communities and individuals alike, across the country. She was responsible for collecting over 100 thousand signatures to ensure both Houses of Parliament debated the merits of this mandate last year. Her tireless efforts have been instrumental in shaping this conversation for the last four years.
Black women have too often been erased from history, particularly when forging overdue social change. Let us agree that mandating Ethnicity Pay Gap Reporting is not the issue and today is not the day to sustain this discriminatory and systemic inequality.
We, the undersigned, would like the Women and Equalities Committee to recognise the contribution of Dianne Greyson in all subsequent media press releases and messages relating to the #EthnicityPayGap mandate. We will celebrate her role in addressing this subject and fully support your recognition of it’s significance.
Yours sincerely,
For added clarity, the link provided above does not detail the Committee's role.
The Mandate has been recommended by the committee and is not yet confirmed by government.
The article will be quoted directly in the final letter to the Committee.
Omission of the quote does not detract from the call to action: recognise Dianne Greyson's role in the Ethnicity Pay Gap Mandate.
