Womens Representation in EA Sports: College Football 26

During the pre-release deep dives of CFB 26, we have seen the upcoming game features and changes following last year’s release. With this, it is a great disappointment to see that women continue to have no industry representation in the game.

It has been highlighted online that there is no option to create a feminine appearing coach in the dynasty coach creator. Additionally, on all available public forums, there has been no comment, response, or subsequent action to rectify the issue by EA or the CFB Development Team.

Your game also excludes women officiators in the game despite the rise of women in such real life positions. Women in football leadership roles have been increasing over the years, with many facing systemic barriers to get into the sport, receiving discriminatory treatment whilst in these positions.

There have been three kickers who were women for CFB teams, yet there is no chance for any representation of women in such a position in the game. Currently there are women in positional and assistant coaching roles in CFB and the NFL, and again as highlighted at the head of this letter, there are no women represented in coaching roles in the 2025 and 2026 version of EA Sports College Football .

Even if these real people who have overcome adversity were not in such positions, video games are an art, tool and platform to provide an equal media for all. As such, sports games can provide inspiration and allow participation from fans who may not have the opportunity to take part in real life.

As a developer, you have the platform to help shape people's perspective and misconceptions about women in the sport, helping to normalise inclusivity and equality. From this, it is asked that you add such representation and help to inspire more women to join the industry.

Thank you,

A long time football fan
